The bump stops are the last line of defence against poor roads. Acting as a kind of progressive rubber spring, they ensure the shock does not foul against the body when the shock is fully compressed. Made from a high-density foam rubber, over time these degrade and must be replaced. We recommend changing the bump stops whenever replacing shock absorbers.
